The Sparkle Of Longing Poem by Irfan Habeeb

The Sparkle Of Longing

My vision shattered, I lost the edges of the world.
You are the only thing I see, a tunnel of light in the night.
But you are not the moon, you are a comet of pain.
You burn me with your fire, you pierce me with your tail.
I tried to escape, I ran away from your trail.
But I came back wounded, I couldn't erase your mark.
You made me addicted to your agony, you made me crave your spark.
I am blind and obsessed, I am trapped in your dark.
It doesn't hurt anymore,
That you will never see me as you did before
But I can't shake off the pain that lingers
The golden sparkle of longing in my chest
That never fades
That never leaves..
