Missile-Toe Poem by Sweet Carolina

Missile-Toe

Missile-Toe
or
A poem about war

In a home once filled with life's sweet song,
Now silent, empty, where they once belonged.
Fleeing a land once free, a promise unmet,
A covenant stands, but peace, a rare asset.

Sons of Abraham, with hopes so grand,
Will you share the promise land?
No, for one of us must part,
Bid farewell with a heavy heart.

Underneath the missile-toe, fate descends,
From the sky, a deadly dance it sends.
War's bitter kiss, a cruel goodbye,
In its shadow, innocence shall die.
